SPECIAL INTERESTWith half a million acres to explore there are many interests that can be catered for. Some of these include: Bullo's beauty is not only the various waterfalls and gorges, it's also its bird and wildlife. Over 100 bird species have been spotted on the property, from emus to magpie geese, wedge-tailed eagles, red wing parrots, brolgas and the elegantly long-legged jabiru that pick their way delicately through the reeds. A detailed list is available for avid bird watchers. Some of the wildlife that inhabit Bullo include wallabies, herds of buffalo, goannas and other reptiles, wild pigs, and of course some of Australia's largest and smallest crocodiles call Bullo River home, from five metre monsters to the rare pygmy crocodiles. You are likely to spot these prehistoric predators before they slip quietly back into the accommodating waters. During any stay at Bullo River, guests will experience an abundance of wildlife that call Bullo River home. As mentioned under 'The Experience', Barramundi fishing at Bullo River is some of the best in the Top End, particularly in the 'run-off' from and 'build up' to the Wet Season. With the remoteness of the Bullo and Victoria Rivers, guests can be offered a truly unique, beautiful and diverse experience fishing in spectacular freshwater gorges for Saratoga, Sooty Grunter and Barramundi to huge tidal rivers prolific with species such as Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, Mangrove Jacks and Jew Fish. With our guides on hand to put you into the best spots (or the helicopter!), and with all fishing equipment supplied, this is one fishing experience not to be missed. We are happy to advise the best tides if fishing is your focus. |
